She's no stranger to wearing make-up on screen, having been int he movie industry since the tender age of five.
But when it comes to her personal life, Dakota Fanning prefers the more natural look, as she proved when she flew into Los Angeles from New York yesterday.
The 17-year-old actress was virtually unrecognisable as she left the make-up at home and went for a fresh-faced look for the flight.

In a recent interview, Twilight actress Dakota explained that she prefers to 'keep it simple' when it comes to cosmetics.
She said: 'I like to look really clean and fresh-faced. It is always fun to experiment with a lot of makeup, but I keep it pretty simple in my everyday life.'
Dakota, who is the sister of Super 8 actress Elle Fanning, added previously: 'If I were to give my younger sister beauty advice, I'd say that although it's fun to go crazy with make-up, I don't like seeing young girls trying to be someone they're not.

'I think we should keep youthful for as long as possible.'
But when it comes to her film roles, Dakota has less choice, and revealed: 'The most adventurous I've been with make-up was on the film The Runaways.
'One of the looks was like silver spray paint over my eyes which I still try to emulate, in a modified way!'
Dakota has been in New York continuing with her studies at New York University.
However, she hasn't forgotten about her movie roots, and her upcoming projects include Effie with Emma Thompson, Mississippi Wild with Mickey Rourke and Robert Duvall, and Very Good Girls with Elizabeth Olsen and Dustin Hoffman.
